2020 Ski-Doo Expedition Xtreme - 3-25-23
My only video for this year. Needed to do one as a final send off for this Xtreme, replacing it with a 2024 BCX-RS 154 for next season. Love the wide track still but they didn't update them for 2024 so I'll try this for a season and see what happens in 2025.

Umsaskis, Long Lake, and Ross Stream. Crossing the St. John, and then a ride on the dog sled trail which had been prepared for the Can-AM 250 a few weeks ago.

On the St. John River briefly but decided that the ice wasn't good enough to run it, as well as finding another possible route was plowed. Returning back to Ross Lake we found that a slush hole had opened up and problems ensued.

Ended up running on one cylinder at the end of the day, tore it apart the next morning and found that a plug wire had come off. It was not an opportune time to run on one cylinder though, and the sled wouldn't go into reverse.

This is like trails I ride with my xcw 530 fun having the power on tap guy needs good tire on them big boys though or can't do any of that just spin

I'm debating buying an Xtreme and am curious how hot it runs in warmer/minimal snow conditions?
Not really an issue, when the water temp gets to around 145 F the fan kicks on to cool the radiator. I haven't done any towing but never had it get any warmer than that. I run Dupont slides also so if I need to go on glare ice I can...I do have the tunnel mount scratchers though and I still use them for the sliders if I think it will help.

I'm pretty happy with it. Not as good at climbing or water skipping as a mountain sled.

Good video, good off-road driving skills. It's more interesting to watch with a snowmobile in front. It's never fun to come back at the end of a rope, hence the importance of never walking alone. Thank you for sharing with us ;-)
Just wondering why you have multiple GPS units. We ride in Pittsburg, NH and Rangeley up to Moosehead Lake areas. We use just a single Garmin unit with bread crumbs options and state wide maps already loaded. Thanks
I'm out in the Allagash with no marked trails, running a lot of ice. I've had bad luck with only one GPS and having a failure in getting power to it...doesn't take long before you kill the battery and now you have nothing. Also the GPS on my bar is the old DeLorme PN60 which has great mapping for Maine but it is a 10 year old antiquated piece of equipment so I don't totally trust it to stay running at this point. But when it is working I like having it on hand to consult in addition to the newer Garmin (which has pretty worthless map data to be honest).
What motor do you have?
The Xtreme only has the 850 ETEC for an option. If you go with the LE or SE then you can't get the 850 but you can choose the other motors.

Never had much trouble in the 5000 miles I keep a sled.

The consistent blipping of the throttle is hard on the ears. Cool sled though!
Don't have much choice when trying to move slower than engagement speed, and the 850 and is very touchy off idle.

Just in case I needed to back up. The snow flap will get sucked under the track or at least push snow behind you.

The Lynx Ranger 69 with 600 mm wide track is also very ekstreme, with BRP 900 ACE with turbo
Lynx Brutal 850 is a better snowmobil. PPS suspension and å 60 mm hight of the track. A pity that there is no dealers of Lynx in US and Canada.
there is now but the lynx brutal dont have the thing in the back of the track when you are reversing that flips up so you dont get stuck. dont know what its called in english
@@evenkristoffersen6501 We just call it an articulated rail. The Brutal looks cool and I bet it climbs a lot better without the articulated rail...but losing the ability to back up would defeat the purpose of going WT for me personally. I would like to see us get the PPS suspension though.

Nope, the saw scabbard hasn't failed me yet.
If it's missing in this video it's because I took it off to save weight since I was carrying 7 gallons of fuel on the back.
